sorry that this is late, it has only now come to my attention that these allegations even exist because the person who made the accusation didn't address this when they commented under the song itself (instead just calling it strange, and asking questions, which i then answered)
btw note that when i use words like "accusation" and "allegation" it is not a complete denial..
let me address the allegation and share my thoughts, confessions, clarifications/corrections where needed, opinions on the topic itself, and future promises
the first thing to address here is that this person says the song itself is made in Suno.. this is incorrect..
the song itself uses a sample (like all Future Funk/Vaporwave tracks on here do) which i'm even open about..
it is possible that the original origin of the sample was made in Suno.. i have a habit of finding obscure funky music on YouTube and feeling the need to sample it.. though i also confess that in 2024 i have generated few melodies in Suno and sampled it afterwards.. it is possible that the original sample of this mix was a part of that collection.. though i have like whole library of music and samples from various sources (like habbo hotel, my singing monsters, youtube, etc)
if the original sample was made in Suno, then i apologize for it, though i do want to say that i'm kinda confused why that would be against the rules, since i did still put equal effort into the final product as i would've with any other copyrighted samples that have been allowed in the past.. this isn't a denial of guilt, btw, just a genuine confusion..
but i repeat, i'm still sorry if that was the case..
the next thing to address is the "the mixing is off" point.. as much as i am willing to admit guilt when it comes to the possibility that the sample is Suno.. i think "the mixing is off" is just plane rude, because the mixing was done by me.. you're basically implying i suck as a mixer (which maybe i do, maybe i don't, but requesting for my song to be taken down just because i suck is just petty) also to answer your question, it is a guitar with Effector over it (like phaser or flanger), considering Effector was placed over the entire sample..
the next point is that the bitrate is 192kbps which only comes to show that this person doesn't understand what they're talking about.. because it is literally my default settings on fl studio..
if i have to start using different bitrate for mp3 just to avoid suspicion, just say so.. but also i kinda feel like it's a bit unhealthily obsessive to suspect every 192kbps file of being AI, and i recommend talking to a therapist about it.. i genuinely mean that (not even in a rude way) because it's possible you may have an underlying fear/obsession that leads to irrational conclusions based on circumstantial confirmation bias.. obviously: not everything in 192kbps is AI
this person then went on to address two comics i made.. neither of which were enheredly pro-AI (or anti-AI for that matter, though part 2 clearly criticizes AI for the illegal ways people have been using it during that time) when the accuser commented under part 2, they clearly believed that comic to be a pro-AI comic despite the criticism i had towards AI in that particular comic.. this is probably because part 1 left a bad taste in their mouth..
what are my thoughts on the opinions shared in part 1? well, the comic itself had a similar mindset as that video by respectable Flash animator DrawWithJazza, regarding the importance of discussion.. in my comic i simply showed 2 sides to an argument.. idk maybe the arguments presented were too compelling and disagreeable opinions aren't allowed to have a platform? nah, i ain't petty enough to resort to that rhetoric..
that said, the fun part about opinions is that i don't believe in picking sides.. i can wholeheartedly and validly critique AI for everything bad it has ever done, while also giving credit where credit is due and even defending it when needed..
but to address the first comic.. all i simply implied in the comic is that when somebody for example takes Dwayne The Rock Johnson and photoshops it into Shrek, we can all agree that this is art.. but if you perform the same process, by taking something that was originally AI and photoshop it into something new, people don't treat it the same way.. i left it at that without providing any real thoughts about what i think about this response, because i wanted to leave it open for discussion.. i cannot learn nor pick a side if neither side provides a compelling response that makes me go "huh, i hadn't thought of it that way" so to accuse to comic of being pro-AI without providing an argument for why one is art and the other isn't, is counter-intuitive and lacks nuance.. and as someone who's pro-nuance, i think we need to take a more fair and reasonable approach to discussing this topic (like explained in the video by DrawWithJazza)
but what does this say about my future regarding AI? what are my current thoughts? have i changed my mind or do i still think there's a difference between blatantly posting AI without artistic integrity vs actually mixing something?
the answer is; i kinda still think this way when it comes to music, because otherwise we might as well illegalize sampling as well, since it's a similar process to what i did.. and i do not want to live in a world where Daft Punk is illegal.. let alone, imagine the death of Plunderphonics and the entire genre of Future Funk and Vaporwave
that doesn't mean i will still use Suno, because i like writing melodies better anyway (and also i play irl instruments, so i would love to incorporate those in my future albums.. i'm currently making one where i play the ocarina)
and i hereby delete the song, and any art where AI was used (even if it was just a texture in the background, with the drawing on the foreground as focus) but i won't delete my Helvetica Standard remix, because if that one's not art then maybe we need to revisit a whole new broader discussion on what is, and i don't like to get political
and to anyone who ACTUALLY cares, i recommend clicking all links before commenting, since you may not get the full context behind my thought process without it..
i also admit that upon relistening, the vocals in the original sample doesn't sound natural, and its japanese might actually be gibberish.. so.... whoops? i apologize for sampling something that was originally AI
